The Department is attempting to establish more named endowed scholarships, distinguished chairs and professorships, and directed building renovations. Obviously naming a specific endowment in honor of the donor, or another name directed by the donor, is possible. The Department has little in endowments relative to other programs and given rising educational costs the need is especially high now. All discussions on potential gifts are kept confidential.
