(Aquatic Ecology; Stable Isotopes)
Specific Interests
My broad research interest is aquatic productivity. Studies of the nitrogen cycle have formed a convenient entry into this topic, the research being conducted at organismic, population, and ecosystem level in the field and laboratory. I have also studied taste and odor problems, articicial destratification, alpine lakes and streams, macrophyte nutrition, aquatic insect phenology, stable isotopes in food webs, and nutrient budgets of lakes. Fish research has focused on growth and cohort formation. My present research focuses on nutrient limitation in streams and long-term ecological research in Colorado.
